This book is Hanna’s PhD thesis at Harvard University. It was published in 1995 by Edinburgh University Press.
The book has a preface by Edward Said in memory of his friend Hanna and a foreword by Professor Biancamaria Scarcia Amarotti and anther short foreword and acknowledgements by Jehan, Hanna’s wife.
The preface by Edward Said and the foreword by Biancamaria Scarcia Amarotti can be also read in the section called "Writngs in Tribute of Abu Omar & Other".
