Danang
by
All colonial domination
Chose Danang a starting station
Thought they would stay forever
In the land of sea and river
They have failed to discover
Inner secrets of bamboo
Hidden in the water mountain
And the grass of hyven pass
It remained to them alas
A taboo.
In Danang
Was in tune
With commune
Of love I sang,
To stay apart
From charming wife
For thirty years
For sake of fight
And be so calm
Rang a bell
You can tell
Of great alarm.
Hanoi, November 1975
